Mon 3/18: pFriem Family Brewers Tacoma Release, 6pm

The much anticipated arrival of pFriem Family Brewers in our area is here. A few select places were designated as release hosts, and we’re the only Tacoma location…so stop in on Monday so you can be one of the firsts to try these amazing beers. The Pfriem Family will be visiting to help introduce their stellar offerings. Here’s the lineup:

To add some TRH flavor, we’ll be running a evening-only very limited TRH Test Kitchen Food Special: a smoked apple brandy duck sausage, topped with aioli, fresh arugula, and a Pfriem Blonde IPA shallot vinaigrette.

German bratwurst in a pretzel roll, Swiss cheese, Snipes Mountain IPA mustard, onions, cider braised sauerkraut, and dill pickles. This special will be available when we open at 11am, until we close at 11pm, or until supplies are exhausted, whichever comes first.

This special is vegi-friendly when ordered with a vegi-brat at no extra charge.

THU 2/21 TRH Test Kitchen Special: The Big Smooth

This Thursday’s TRH Test Kitchen Special is:

The Big Smooth: all-beef dog, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a poppy-seed bun.


Our own secret Big Smooth Sauce hits it from downtown on this TRH Test Kitchen Special to pay homage to the Foward/Center that served the Supersonics from 1993 to 1998, the best team player the game has ever known.

This special is available when we open at 11am, and is available until close or supplies are exhausted. It is vegetarian friendly when paired with one of our vegi-dogs. No substitutions/additions/to-go.


Murray Morgan Bridge Week; Mon 2/11-Fri 2/15

This week is the Centennial Celebration of one of this city’s most iconic landmarks, The Murray Morgan Bridge.


Some may know it as The 11th Street Bridge. To celebrate, our bratwurst, named for this awesome piece of Tacoma lore, will be on special.

The Murray Morgan Bridge Brat will be 11% off from Monday, February 11th to Friday, February 15th. That comes out to $3.56 + the governor’s share. Bratwurst on steamed poppyseed bun topped with German stone-ground mustard & apple cider braised sauerkraut. No substitutions.

TRH Test Kitchen Thursdays

Starting February 14th, Thursdays will now be “TRH Test Kitchen Thursdays”.

Doing something cool the first Wednesday of every month wasn’t cutting it, so we’ll do it every Thursday from here on out. Locally sourced sausages, crazed combinations, collaborations, and the opening of our seasonal farmers markets will make for some great creations.

All TRH Test Kitchen specials will be announced the day before on fb (theredhottacoma) and on both of our twitter accounts (@theredhot , @TRHkitchen, #trhtestkitchen).


Wed 2/6: The TRH Andouille Po Boy

In honor of people many miles away displaying body parts for cheap plastic beads, we are instead focusing on the food of said region. The TRH Andouille Po Boy is here on Wednesday, February 6th.


A spicy andouille sausage in a fresh baked bolillo roll, with our house made remoulade, diced onion, shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and finished off with our TRH Secret Spice Blend.

This special will be available all day, or until supplies are exhausted, no substitutions or to-go.

Sun 2/3: Franco’s Italian Sausage Sandwich & TRH Beer Bowl

The TRH annual Super Bowl Sunday tradition, Franco’s Italian Sausage Sandwich, will be available on Sunday when we open the doors. A 1/3lb sweet Italian sausage in a fresh baked bolillo roll, covered in marinara, and finished with provolone & parmesan cheeses.

Our 2nd tradition, The TRH Beer Bowl, is back with 2012 Champion Schooner Exact 3-Grid IPA defending it’s title against 7 Seas Rude Parrot IPA. At 3pm (30 minutes before Super Bowl kickoff), we’ll tap both kegs. Both beers are $3.75 a pint until the first keg blows and is crowned the winner!


SUN 1/13/13: Early Open, The TRH Legion Of Boom Dog…

In honor of The Seattle Seahawks advancing to another stage in the postseason to take on Atlanta, we found it only proper to open our doors 90 minutes early, at 9:30am, this Sunday to catch The Hawks game. We’ll be serving up one of our favorite football hot dog specials (and one of yours, too, as it sold out rather early last time), rechristened The Legion Of Boom Dog for Sunday.

This all-beef dog is covered in steak sauce, topped with a house-made porter/bleu cheese dressing, a slice of bacon, and finished with french-fried onions.

This special will be available all day, or until supplies are exhausted, no substitutions or to-go. Enjoy while we watch The Hawks take on The Falcons at 10am!

SUN 1/6: The TRH Wild Card Dog

In honor of The Seattle Seahawks making the postseason, we’ll be serving up one of our favorite hot dog specials for football, rechristened The Wild Card Dog for Sunday.

This all-beef dog is cooked in hot wing sauce, then topped with a house-made beer bleu cheese dressing, and finished with diced celery.

This special will be available all day, or until supplies are exhausted, no substitutions or to-go. Enjoy while we watch The Hawks take on The Skins at 1:30!

FRI 12/21: Darkest Day & Night

December 21st marks the shortest day of the year, and the longest night of the year. As Pacific Northwesterners, we are used to the sun hiding out. We are also fond of delicious beer.
